Personal Lines Customer Service Rep Reports to:

Personal Lines Department Overall Responsibilities Personal Lines Customer Service Reps are P&C licensed and are responsible for taking payments, answering billing questions, processing change requests, requoting existing policies through other carriers, initiating cross sell opportunities and retention of existing Personal Lines customers.
Policies of focus will consist of home, auto, inland marine, personal umbrella, motorcycle, boatowners, and recreational vehicle.
Specific Responsibilities 1.
Answering 30-40 inbound calls per day.

Processing return mail.
3.
Update customers contact information in Agency Management System (Applied Epic) 4.
Communicate with Principal Agent any problems with underwriting or dissatisfied customers 5.
Process Personal Lines policy change requests 6.
Help customers file claims in office or by conference call 7.
Take payments 8.
Utilize Epic to facilitate follow ups and document conversations with customers 9.
Any incoming commercial quotes should be referred to the commercial producer 10.
Any change requests or certificate of insurance requests on commercial policies should be referred to the commercial CSR 11.
Verify vehicles every time a customer makes a change or pays their bill.

Ask about life insurance and refer them to life licensed producer.

Follow up on outstanding forms/signatures for yourself.

Copy Electronic Memos from PolicyCenter and AOA into Epic and follow up until complete Nature and Scope A Personal Lines Support Specialist is expected to discharge their duties in a manner that is always consistent with the customer's best interest.
When explaining coverages to a client, a Support Specialist should be cognizant that customers are not familiar with insurance terminology, and as such, a Support Specialist should use common everyday jargon when doing so would not compromise the scope of coverage.
The Support Specialist is expected to project themselves as a professional at all times.
A Support Specialist is expected to maintain accurate records and up to date files for documenting purposes.
The Support Specialist should possess strong written and oral communication skills, be well organized and exhibit a willingness to pursue professional studies.
Additional product knowledge courses will be paid for by the agency and the Support Specialist will be expected to attend the virtual (on-line) courses and pass them.
